In a Groove

These last few days have been really nice family days.   I feel like we are finding our grove as a family of 6.  Can I tell you how good that feels!  Transitioning from 2 to 3 kids was really hard and I was worried that 3 to 4 would be even worse but it has been smooth. I think know it has a lot to do with Miss Sutter's laid back personality.  As long as some one is snuggling her, she is willing to go wherever, whenever.

Thursday my parents came to town, to hang out with the kiddos and to spend time with Sutter since they have only seen her once before at a wedding for like 3 hours.   The kids were so excited to have them here and I have to admit it was really nice to be able to run to the grocery store during the middle of the day kid free and make all over our meals without having to worry about stopping to make the baby happy and trying to keep the toddler from pulling the knives and everything else off the counter every time I turn around.
The only picture evidence that my parents were here.  I was a bad picture taker.

Saturday, we left the house with the intention of running to the auto parts store and to pick up my latest library holds.  We ended up at Home Depot for their kids workshop and this month they were also having a mini car show with a bounce house, face painting, and bbq for the kiddos.   Even with having to take Brighton to the potty at least a hundred times, it was a blast.   After that we headed to the library where they were having a solar system themed day.   The kids got to look through telescopes at the sun.  Talk about a dream come true for them.

Yesterday was another really good day. The kids and I had a little play date in the morning complete with delicious, hot coffee.  Eldon, Brighton, Sutter, and I all took a nice long afternoon nap while Bristol watched a movie for quiet time,   When we got up, Jeremy was home from work and the weather was beautiful so instead of driving the .2 miles to the store, we walked there as a family. When we got home we enjoyed a delicious meal of tacos with chips and guacamole and then finished off the night with a little back yard fun while Jeremy did a little work in the garage.  Sutter happily sat in the Beco while I let Bo graze, kicked the ball for the dogs, and had fun with the big kids.   It was as easy and smooth as a day can get with my crazy herd and it was made even better when I got in a run for the first time in almost a year.  Man I missed running.

Two Months...

Oh Miss Sutter Grace...

Two months! How is this possible?  I feel like you have always been a part of our family.  You kind of came in and just fit.  There wasn't really an adjustment period, it worked from the get go.   For our family, the transition to 4 kids was a lot easier than the transition to 3.  You are the little darling of our family, we are all eager to make you happy but in truth, you are a pretty easy kiddo.   But when the clock strikes 6:10 pm, you turn into a beast.  Nothing makes you happy, well occasionally going outside will make it a little easier but really, most days you scream from 6:10 till 7:15ish when we start getting ready for bed.  This last week you have been sleeping pretty consistent stretches of 12 hours at night which is just fabulous.   And today, you napped for 2- 2 hour stretches without waking up and fussing, one of them was in the crib.   Like I said, you are easy, you fit, and I personally think you are perfect.   I may hog you a lot and daddy secretly likes it when you start crying while I am trying to make dinner because he gets to snuggle you and calm you down.   We love you sweet girl.

p.s.  I couldn't pick just a few pictures so I posted a ton.

Facebook break, instagram dump, and a few other random bits...

How is the weekend already over?  I am excited that its a 4 day work week for Jeremy.  I love these flex weeks.

This weekend was pretty busy with a trip out of town to do our shopping.   When we first moved here it wasn't too big of a deal that we had to drive 180 miles to do most of our shopping but 2 more children later and busier schedules, it is getting old.   I am struggling with it.  Any time we leave, our car gets packed full and there is no longer enough room to take my stroller plus come back with all of our groceries so the stroller gets left at home, which means we have multiple carts in the store and its just a lot.  I really don't want to get rid of my beloved Sequoia but the reality is, we need more space if we are going to be stuck here in the dessert.   My prayer is that we get to move but if not, that God will provide us with a Suburban even though I don't want one, I would much rather move.

Now on a lighter note, a few instagram photos from this past week....

I had to laugh when I looked over and saw her sleeping not playing.  She was out.  I couldn't believe she slept through me moving her from the play mat to her crib.

We have been spending most of our evenings in our well loved back yard.

I love that Bo comes our of his house when he hears my voice, knowing I bring him food.

I highly suggest the Fruit of the Spirit She Reads Truth study.  I got a lot from it.

Didn't Jeremy do an awesome job with the flowers?

This morning was so nice... Sutter, well all 4 kids, slept 12 glorious hours last night.  I was able to get up, drink my coffee hot, eat a delicious omelet, and dive into a new bible study this morning while the kids were still sleeping.  Hopefully the rest of this day will go just as smoothly.

I should mention to all of my 6 readers I  decided to take a little facebook break.  It was getting to be a little much and I found that I wanted to take a step back.   I tried to just limit my time on it but with the easy access on my phone, I found it was best to deactivate my account.  Maybe in a few weeks I will go back but maybe not.  It has been a few days and I find that I am not missing it at all.  There are a few friends I miss seeing updates from but overall it has been kind of nice to unplug just a little bit.  You can still find me on instagram because seriously, how could I give that up?

Maybe with my free time eyeroll
> I will get caught up on my picture editing and blogging.
I hope y'all have a wonderful week, it is our last week of homeschooling before we take a summer break and I am beyond excited.
