InstaFriday// A week of blessings and answered prayers

I didn't think I posted very many instagrams this week but I was wrong.

After seeing this at home gel hack pinned many times on pinterest I had to give it a go.  And it works.  I got 5 days out of my manicure before scrubbing the kitchen counters chipped it.  I am on to a pink and gold combo.  And this top coat, AMAZING.  It really does dry your nails in seconds.  An awesome thing with 3 little ones running around.

All of my kids, including the biggest one of all (daddy), went down the water slide at the birthday party this past weekend.  Is it really any surprise that weather premitting we will be having a water slide bounce house at Bristol's party in a few weeks?  If it is too cold, there will still be a bounce house with a slide.

When I first looked over, I thought it was Bristol standing next to Eldon looking at Bo.  It took me a few seconds to realize that my 13 month old decided to be just like big brother.

We now have to sit out front and watch the garbage truck on trash days.

She had a lot of fun conquering the park.

 Because everyone eats like this.

 There are no words.

She eats every meal this way these days.

Jeremy got home from work super early on Tuesday.  Bristol was super excited that he got to come with me for school pickup.  I thought it was cute that they were all wearing tan bottoms.

Since he got off early Tuesday, he made Bo a new habitat.

Because he is so small, we are going to keep him in this box for now.  That way another cat can't get him.  Once he is bigger then we plan to let him roam the yard.  So in about 10 years.

Today was a good day, it called for celebration coffee.

This week has been an amazing week.  From getting to have a nice relaxing days last weekend, to getting some awesome news this week.  And the most awesomest news of all, IKEA put my couch on sale. We are going to pick it up on Saturday.  I am so stinking excited.   It is something I have been praying about, for a while now.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

What I Wore

Jeans// Ross
Shoes// Target

Today was a no make-up, no jewelry kind of day.   Do you ever have those kind of days?  Most days I just power through and tell myself it only takes about 3 minutes longer so why not do it, but today, not so much.  I slept horribly, woke up late, showered extra long in an attempt to wake up, and then I still wasn't awake.  My hair doesn't air-dry well so what little energy I had was spent fixing my mop.

This shirt is one that is super comfy.  One day maybe I will wear it with leggings, it is long enough un-tucked.
I uploaded, edited, and exported all the photos from our fun relaxing weekend, yet I haven't gone the extra step to blog about it.  On that note, I took all the pictures I need for a post about cloth diapers but that is as far as it has gone.  I wonder if those pictures will sit on my computer as long as the ones of Brighton and Eldon's room.  At this rate, Eldon's new bed will be designed, built, and moved into his room before I get around to posting pictures of the room with his toddler bed in it.   Oh well, such is life.

Instafriday// 3 weeks of phone pictures

It has been almost a month since I bored you with in depth explanations on my instagrams.  I know y'all are dying to once again see all of my instagrams.   Right?!

A few of my favorite things
2 weekends ago when we went to the beach I really wanted Yogurtland but I wasn't brave enough to get it with the kids and without Jeremy.  So this past weekend when we went to my parent's house, my one request was Yogurtland.  And thankfully they put a new one in at the bottom of the hill so we didn't have to trek into Temecula to get my hearts desire.    It was delicious.   I want more.   I miss living in civilization where things like yogurt bars are common place.

I will paint my nails all day long but during the summer, I wont do my toes.    With Jeremy being gone a lot this summer and with him starting school tomorrow, I am spending lots of extra time with the kids.  I totally didn't feel guilty going to get pampered.  Bristol on the other hand didn't understand why she couldn't get another pedicure with me.  Don't worry, I promised her one for our birthdays in a few weeks, like 2.  Oh goodness, 2 weeks until my 28th birthday and her 5th birthday.

I have really enjoyed getting to spend more one on one time with Eldon.  He is such a relaxed, laid back dude that a lot of times he takes a back seat to his sisters.

fluffy pink swimsuit// bugging the big two// pool days// oreo mouth

Bo the Tortoise. I don't know who loves him more, Jeremy and I or the kids.   He is the most boring pet in the world but is he so ugly he is adorable.

Bristol started school.  She is so excited.  We have survived her first  2 weeks.   Hopefully by the end of next week we will have a more manageable schedule in the works.

I love our family pictures that Cinnamon did.  We just got our prints in today and I can't wait to share all of them up on this here blog.

Grandpa got a tractor.  Eldon is a cautious little guy so at first he wasn't sure but thankfully he doesn't hold back for long.  Soon he was riding all over the property with Grandpa.   But he wouldn't drive and anytime my dad took his had off the wheel, Eldon put it right back on.  Bristol on the other hand tried to take out a rock, our car, and a tree while she was driving.

Eldon's awesome dinosaur// smoothie drinking// eating Thai Curry off of chopsticks//coffee dates

freezer stash of waffles for breakfast// Bristol's lunch for the first day of school.

My name is Savanna, I have a cloth diaper addiction.   My husband fully supports it.  One day I will do a post on my love for cloth diapers.

My view at the beach// train crossing the road while the kids were sleeping// our packing needs for a night away// mail happiness

I love the rain.  I miss the rain.  Jeremy needs a job in Washington our Europe.

Look our horrible loveseat is no longer in the house.  Oh darn.

Love how my succulent planter turned out.

Oh Joy!  Fundraisers 1 week into school.  A Christmas fundraiser to boot.   This is the stuff my nightmares are made of.

That's it folks.  3 weeks of instagrams.  If you made it this far I am impressed.

Now I am off to clean the bathrooms and do our grocery shopping for the week before I enjoy our first weekend at home with Jeremy in 3 months with only a birthday party to attend tomorrow.  What am I going to do with myself?   2 whole days of doing nothing.  No early school morning, no nap killing pick up times, and getting to see my husband from sun up to sun down.  I am so excited.

Triangle Succulent Planter

This was my fun little project on Sunday.  Doing all those triangles took a little longer than expected, they didn't come out perfect but I am super happy with the results.

I have wanted succulents forever.  When Jeremy and I went on our little mini date on Bristol's first day of school, I finally got my wish.  Yesterday I added a few more to finish off my planter.

My plan was to use a stencil but it didn't work, so after browsing home made stamps on pinterest I decided to cut up a wine cork to use as my stamp.   When you live in the middle of no where, you work with what you have.   It was a little tricky still and more often than not I had to go back over the triangles with a paint brush to fill them in but the wine cork definitely did the trick.

I let the dish dry overnight and then baked it at 300 for 30 minutes.  I really don't think the baking did anything but I did it anyways.

So there you have it $20 worth of succulents from Home Depot, an $8 bowl from Marshalls, a wine cork, paint brush, and a bottle of dark copper paint I already had on hand.  $28 well spent.

What I Wore//Brain Dump

necklace//chaming charlies

Jeremy and Eldon were playing trucks yesterday. "Hold on, I got to find my truck.  Here it is". All said by Jeremy.

We switched our medical insurance a couple months back because Jeremy's work coverage required us to spend an insane amount of money out of pocket. Like the time we had to spend $400-500 for 30 days worth of Eldon's asthma medications. Today I went to refill them because there is a fire in Lake Isabella and we are getting all the smoke.  I wanted to make sure we were ready in case he started having a hard time breathing. I spent $5. So much more affordable.

I am really looking forward to hanging out at home this weekend.  All we have on the agenda is a birthday party.

Last Wednesday Bristol woke up early enough in the morning to have breakfast with Jeremy, she has since repeated this every morning. Clearly she missed my love of sleep.

Can someone find me the energy to tackle my to do list?  Like designing and printing Bristol's birthday invites for her party that is quickly approaching?  Or heck, plan the party for me? That would be helpful.

Meet the newest member of our family.

Jeremy wanted to name him Lucky because of how he found him.  This evening when he came home from work, this little guy was just chilling in our driveway, while the neighborhood demon cat was lurking next door.  Jeremy thinks either the cat or a bird left him in our drive.  Luckily he didn't get run over.  The kids saw him and fell in love.  They thought his name should be Turtle the Tortoise.  Thankfully when I suggested Bo everyone agreed it was a good name.  So now we have a Bo.  I also get to do all kinds of research on Mr. Bo, to find out how he should live.   Oh joy!

Side note.. our relaxing weekend has now turned into building a tortoise habitat.

Man I have been busy since I started writing this post yesterday...

We finally picked a theme of rainbows and then the invitation design just kind of fell in place, which a relief.  Now to start crafting for this shindig.

First week of school wrap up

recycled but I love it

Let's talk about the first week of school because I don't have a desire to blog about the weekend yet.

It was different than I expected. I didn't expect Bristol to have a case of separation anxiety. I don't know if it is because she sees Eldon and Brighton leaving with me or what but she is having a rough time. It started on Tuesday and it kept up the rest of the week. The first day I felt like the worst mother in the world leaving her when she looked so lost and defeated but I know if I play into it will become a huge deal. On Wednesday Eldon started crying and telling me we had to go back and get sissy. Seriously, broke my heart. He is fine once we get home because he realizes he can do what he wants, he doesn't have to compromise with Sissy but leaving her every morning is rough on him. Everyday when we pick her up he gives her a hug, grabs a hold of her hand, and tells her everything he did without her. Brighton doesn't really seem to notice things are different. She is probably liking the freedom of one less "mom" since Bristol likes to be in charge of her.

Me, I am doing great. Although I am trying to figure out what happened to all the spare time I am supposed to have since I have one less kid at home.

Nap time is a mess.  Nap time is usually from 2-4/5 here, with pickup up at 3 our whole afternoon nap has gone crazy.  I have tried putting Brighton down earlier but she is only napping like an hour and is a huge mess by dinner time.   So we are doing 3 naps on school days which works but I don't feel like it is an ideal solution.

Pick up is an experience.  The first 2 days were complete madness.  I don't think anyone knew what was going on.  Day 3 was a little more under control, day 4 wasn't so bad.  Then they had to go and ruin it by throwing in an early release day on Friday and once again it was chaos.   Hopefully this week it is a little better because I don't enjoy getting run over by parents and kids while waiting for Bristol's class.

All in all, other than the separation anxiety, school is going good.   Bristol is enjoying it and mommy is enjoying it.

Weekend Notes// beach trip

Last Saturday I took the kiddos to the beach.  Did I mention Jeremy was also gone from Wednesday-Sunday?  A few weeks back we got invited to Jeremy's Aunt and Uncle's house in Hermosa Beach.  I really wanted to turn it down, the beach without Jeremy, no thank you.  But Bristol and Eldon have been asking when we were going to see Ken and Joanie again since we last saw them at Thanksgiving.   With lots of promises of help from Jeremy's family I decided that maybe just maybe I was brave enough to try it on my own.

Brighton loved the ocean.  Just like the big 2.  I don't know where my kids get this ocean loving gene but it is definitely not from their mommy.  Brighton kept squawking at me because I wouldn't let her go further into the water or let go of her hand.  The waves crashing on her face, no big deal.  She thought it was fun.  Me on the other hand not so much.  I think the last time I actually got in the water at the beach was about 9 years ago when Jeremy and I were dating.   So you can see just how much I love the beach.  Bristol didn't come out of the water the whole time we were there.   Eldon, as soon as he warmed up to it played in the water right along with her.

All in all it was a great trip.  My In Laws helped out just as much as they promised, the kids listened pretty well and I felt like I wasn't completely insane for doing it on my own BUT I don't know if I would do it again.  I was exhausted by the end of the night and could barely keep my eyes open long enough to get to bed.

What I Wore//Adjustments

Skirt//Gift--Stolen from my sister

I am loving Bristol being in school.  Yes I know we have only done 2 days so far but it is wonderful.  I get more one on one time with the little 2 and then when she comes home I get an excited Bristol.  Win-Win.  And her and Eldon missed each other so much through out the day that they don't fit for at least an hour.  Progress, right?!

I am getting bad at blogging again.  I am hoping once we get settled into a school routine that things will fall back into place everywhere else.

Speaking of, the other Brighton has returned.  Her afternoon nap is being seriously messed up with this school pick up thing and she is letting us know just how much she disapproves of us changing her schedule.  Today Jeremy told her "I only get to spend so much time with you a day and all you are doing is crying." So we tried something new today, she got 3 short naps instead of 2 longer naps.  Jeremy said she was a different kid when he woke her up.   Hopefully this works because I miss my happy, sweet, funny Brighton.

I think that is it for tonight.  Short and sweet.
