what came in the mail today....

Aunt Hilary gave Bristol a bear about 2 years ago so she decided to make Eldon one. In all fairness she decided to get one for Bristol as well.  They finally came today.

Bristol kept both bears hostage today, walking around saying "Thank you Hilwry!"

I read something the other morning in my quite time, well as quite as it can possibly be with 2 crazy kids, that really stuck with me.

I turned away from God,
But then I was sorry.
I kicked myself for my stupidity!
I was thoroughly ashamed of all I did in my younger days.
Jeremiah 31:19

This is exactly how I feel.  I regret a lot of things I have done and wish I never had done them but I know if I hadn't made the decisions I did, I wouldn't be who I am today.    I have read this verse before but the NLT version words it so perfectly.   I really like that this ties in with what I was reading in Max Lucado's Lived Loved yesterday.  It was on the 2 voices we have in us.   The "No you can't" and The "Yes you can!".  I so often listen to that "No, you can't" voice telling me that I have already failed so why go on but the above verse above reminded me that yes I regret my decisions but I am forgiven.  I need to stop living in my regrets and start listening to the "Yes, you can!" voice.

There once was a phone....

And now it looks like this!
Bristol and Eldon decided to redecorate my phone.   First a couple of days ago Eldon bit my phone and bent the casing.   And then not wanting to be out done by her brother, Bristol dropped my phone on the bathroom floor this morning and shattered the glass.   Beautiful, isn't it?   I know everyone wants a phone just like mine. Today I am thankful for eBay!   I just ordered a new screen off of eBay for $20.   Where if we had paid to have it replaced through insurance it would have be $100.   Now I have to patiently wait for the screen to get here so Jeremy can fix it for me.

It is finished!

It feels so good to say that.  I have been working on this blanket for 2 months.   200 + flowers, 6 yards of fabric, and several headaches from fabric tac later, it is done!!!!

According to Pinterest I pinned this pillow 16 weeks ago.  Shortly there after, maybe even the same day, Elizabeth from Elizabeth Ann Photography commented on the pin and asked if I could make a blanket like this.  And I knew I could.   It was a lot of work and toward the end even Jeremy was helping me roll roses (sorry for ratting on your babe!).   When I put it in the box to ship it, a wonderful feeling of accomplishment came over me, along with a huge sense of annoyance at the postal service!

If you live in the Colorado Springs area, I highly recommend Elizabeth.  She does an amazing job.  We have had our pictures done through her 3 times and hopefully this spring or summer it will be a fourth!

Week 24: Day 172-182

Don't they look sweet and innocent?

10 months....

I was shocked that he smiled for his picture today because I haven't seen his smile in a couple days.
I cannot believe it!  Are you sure he is 10 months old?    Truthfully the only reason I knew what today was is because my phone has a reminder on it to take a picture of Little Buddy on the 17th of every month.   Bad mom, right?

Its been a rough week in the Bennett house for this little guy.  He has been miserable all week.   And its all mommy's fault.   Last Thursday, in the afternoon time I got super sick.  My throat started hurting really  bad, I had the chills, and body aches.  It almost stopped us from going away for the weekend but I took TheraFlu and I started feeling better. I stayed away from the kids the rest of Thursday and up until we dropped them off at Grandma and Grandpas Friday.   But I could resist giving them one last squeeze and of course Eldon wanted bites.    Big mistake.....
This is what he has looked like since Monday.  Yesterday in the afternoon time he started getting a barky seal like cough.  I knew what it meant instantly.  Daddy took him out to work on Aunt Serena's jeep while I was working last night because the cool air is supposed to be good for Croup.  He was still coughing when he came in but the barking and wheezing had disappeared.  And I am so thankful that I had an awesome group of Mom's to turn to when I need help with Croup.  We were hoping we wouldn't have to take him to get meds but this morning he woke up miserable and was barking again.    I took him in and he has a double ear infection and Croup.  They gave us Penicillin and an oral antibiotic.

But I did find out that he is 21 lbs 5 oz and 29 inches long.  A whole inch in 1 month.

He is Bam Bam-ing my computer here instead of the drums right behind it.

6 years....

This past weekend we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary.   6 amazing, wonderful, happy years.  I am truly blessed that God put Jeremy in my life.

For our anniversary we went up to Big Bear.  Something Jeremy has talked about doing since we got married.
Enjoy the pictures

For a hotel room this is the coolest toilet paper holder I have ever seen

We woke up to snow the next morning!   My Colorado friends are probably thinking "this is snow!"

and it wouldn't be a trip with Jeremy if we didn't stop to take pictures of old cars

Do you see his feet?  He forgot his boots so he had to wear flip flops all weekend.

This guys horn was the Marine Corps Anthem

I am very thankful for my husband and my wonderful In-Laws who kept Bristol and Eldon and our 3 dogs all weekend.

Now I must return to taking care of my sick kiddos.

Bristol started daycare...

Bristol started going to daycare 2 1/2 days a week this week.  We call it school, and she loves going.   Here she is on her first day.  She insisted on wearing the hat!
